Toddler Cups: Every One We’ve Tried and What Works for us

Finding the right cup for a toddler is a journey. Here’s our experience with every single one we’ve tried so far at 14 months old.

Our Everyday Cups (AKA the ones that didn’t drive me insane)

Munchkin® Simple Clean™ Toddler Sippy Cup with Easy Clean Straw
This is my go-to for milk because it’s easy to clean, and the straw doesn’t let out too much liquid—so fewer spills. Since transitioning to whole milk, we use these multiple times a day.

Munchkin Any Angle Sippy Cup with Weighted Straw Trainer Cup with Click Lid
She uses this for water throughout the day. And only water- because cleaning it is a bit of a hassle. That said, it was one of the first sippy cups my little one actually used with success.

Cups That Didn’t Work for Us (For Now, At Least)

PandaEar Silicone Training CupPandaEar Silicone Training Cup
Super easy to clean and durable, but the straw lets out way too much liquid. At 14 months it lives in the back of the cabinet for now.

Avanchy Silicone Training Sippy Cup with Straw Lid
Same issue as the PandaEar—the straw lets out too much, so for now, it’s also banished to the back of the cabinet.

Cups That Just Didn’t Click

Munchkin® Miracle® 360 Trainer Sippy Cup with Handles
She never quite figured this one out. Maybe she’s too young, or maybe it’s just one of those things that depends on the baby.

Nuby Clik-It Grip N’ Sip Soft Spout No-Spill Training Sippy Cup
Not my favorite to clean, and my little one didn’t show much preference for it over the Munchkin Any Angle Sippy, so it didn’t make the cut.

Open Cups: A Work in Progress

Anything involving an open cup right now is a supervised training exercise.
